The Vancouver Island Counselling Centre for Immigrants and Refugees (VICCIR) is excited to share with you some of our last VICCIR updates. After a successful eight weeks online course during the summer, “Effective Parenting in a New Country in the Time of Covid-19,” VICCIR in collaboration with Dr. Alison Miller is about to launch two new courses. Our overall goal is to support multicultural families and parents through these challenging times to develop useful skills for healthier family relationships.
- A three weeks Parenting Workshop: “Managing your Family's Emotional Health in the time of COVID-19” Sessions will take place on Thursdays, September 24, October 1 and October 8 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am (PST).

These two courses will be offered entirely in English, although Arabic and Spanish versions will be available in a near future.Cost:
The three sessions course “Healthy Family Living in a New Country in the Time of Covid-19,” has a cost of $30 CAD. The eight sessions course “Effective Parenting” has a cost of $80 CAD.For those who cannot afford totally or partially the amount of the course we have scholarships available. Please, do not hesitate to contact me in this regard before registration.
