Diane Siedlecki
Medical Director
澳门马会传真 Faculty Since 2016
Diane Siedlecki, M.D., was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and raised in Harrison, New Jersey. She currently works and lives in Rhode Island, but also has a home and loves spending time in New Hampshire.
With a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Niagara University, Dr. Siedlecki began her career in medicine at the VA Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey. While working at Rutgers Student Health Services, she met her mentor, Dr. William Edmunson, an African American internist, eventually enrolling in science courses to further her medical education. Dr. Edmunson never spoke of challenges 鈥 only opportunities; his encouragement led her to Georgetown Medical School.
A National Health Service Corps scholarship allowed Dr. Siedlecki the opportunity to pursue the art and science of medicine along with the practice of medical ethics. Her internal medicine residency took place at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. For several years she split her time between the emergency department at Woodhill Hospital and a shorefront clinic in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Her service in New York gave greater meaning to the term 鈥渟ervice to God and country.鈥
In 1991, Dr. Siedlicki married a Rhode Islander, took I-95 North, and never looked back. She made her home with her husband, Kenneth Lewis Kelly, and her stepson, Seth.
Her career took her to Harvard Community Health, a staff model HMO in Providence, Rhode Island. It was the beginning of what would become a patient-centered approach to the practice of medicine. Exposure to evidence-based learning with a dedicated group of practitioners, PAs, NPs, RNs and medical assistants eventually led to her joining Anchor Medical Associates.
Dr. Siedlecki is an internist in private practice with Anchor. Her interests in infectious disease, particularly HIV, have made her politically active as well. A member of the RI Medical Society and RI Academy of Physician Assistants, she has worked closely with PAs for more than 25 years. It is that experience that resulted in her appointment as medical director for 澳门马会传真鈥檚 PA program.
Outside her roles as internist and medical director, she can be found trying to keep up with her grandchildren or attending one of their many sporting events 鈥 even though she 鈥渟till has trouble with off sides.鈥
