Q&A with Matthew

At 澳门马会传真, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You鈥檙e not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply 鈥 you鈥檙e going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.

How Did You Get Started?

My career and passion for hospitality began as a 15-year-old dishwasher for Sheraton Hotels in Hagerstown, MD.

What Is Your Favorite Teaching Moment?

Inside the classroom, is when students feel they walk away learning and understanding something of value they will take with them forever. Outside the classroom, my favorite moments are when students receive recognition and scholarships.

What Advice Do You Have For Incoming Freshmen?

Get involved in clubs and organization. Seek learning opportunities outside the classroom they are literally everywhere. Create relationships with industry professionals, faculty, and community leaders. Do not be afraid to ask questions, this is how one learns.

What College Do You Teach In?

The College of Hospitality Management
