Judy Nicotera, DNP, RN, CNE is an Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Nursing Program. Judy has a career in nursing which spans four decades and has included many specialty areas such as pediatrics, critical care, critical care transport, outpatient infusion center, vascular access, and emergency care. The varied experiences, in mostly academic teaching hospitals, has fostered her love of nursing education and life-long learning. She was prompted to return for a degree in nursing education by a group of students she was fortunate to teach pediatric nursing to, in a clinical setting, whose inspiration and encouragement seeded the journey.

Judy holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Nursing Education (DNP) from Regis College. Her doctoral studies were in improving the educational strategies used to teach undergraduate nursing students dosage calculations. The study focused on evidenced based strategies and improving the safety of entry-level nurses.

Judy is passionate about human caring and infusing caring in every aspect of nursing education, practice, and life in general.

Q&A with Judy

At °ÄÃÅÂí»á´«Õæ, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You’re not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply — you’re going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.
